Job Overview
Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Shift: Day (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Every Other Weekend and Holiday rotation)
Hours: 36 hours per week / 12‑hour day shift
Compensation: $26.00 – $36.00 per hour plus a $10,000 sign‑on bonus.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for residents in the relevant clinical setting.
- Practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and use age‑specific standards for physical and psychosocial needs as per the care plan.
- Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident’s status and provide the care needed.
- Recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in emergent situations.
- Ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents.
- Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
- Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and diet.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
- Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
- Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans.
- Develop a self‑care program based on resident education principles.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
- If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board‑approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.
- Completed a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan as part of the curriculum or have at least 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility.
- Currently hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing Board and/or possess multi‑state licensure privileges.
- Obtain and subsequently maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
- Complete the required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training of the department and facility.
- Specific services or positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements.
