Job Description & How to Apply Below

Inpatient Mixed Acuity Unit Registered Nurse

In our Inpatient Mixed Acuity unit, every room is designed to provide care for patients with any degree of illness or recovery. Our patients remain in the same bed for the duration of their stay. All our beds have hemodynamic monitoring capability including EKG, invasive and non-invasive pressure and cardiac output monitoring as well as the ability for telemetry monitoring throughout the hospital.

Specialty equipment is moved in and out as needed and monitoring and nursing care scale up or down based on the needs of each patient. Patients admitted to this unit almost always have a primary cardiac, thoracic or vascular diagnosis and/or procedure; many experience related conditions such as diabetes, renal disease, and pulmonary disease as well so while we are a focused hospital and unit, the care encompasses most if not all body systems.

RN's new to our unit receive generous education and mentoring that allow them to successfully care for general and intermediate level patients with a track to progress to critical care nursing on the same unit should that be a goal they choose to pursue.

The RN is responsible for performing assessments, developing a plan of care, implementing and evaluating the care. The RN administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice. The RN is responsible for directing, monitoring and evaluating the care delegated to non-licensed personnel. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, the RN works collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care.

Work Schedule:

Flexible schedules to cover all shifts and weekends, as hospital needs demand.

Education/

Experience:

Graduate of a nursing program. Minimum of one-year adult, acute care with cardiology/cardiovascular nursing preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Registered Nurse with current state licensure or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact.
