District Sales Manager

About the Role

As a District Sales Manager with United Rentals, you will support the district in achieving its business plan through profitable revenue generation. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service and leading sales initiatives across the assigned territory.

• Motivate and assist Outside Sales Representatives in meeting and exceeding equipment rental, sales, and total revenue goals.
• Collaborate with District Manager and Branch Managers to develop new markets, analyze market trends and competition, and enhance district profitability.
• Support Branch Managers in establishing sales territories, setting goals, and forecasting for Outside Sales Reps.
• Align Inside Sales Rep activities, goals, and objectives with those of Outside Sales Reps.
• Assist Branch Managers with sales blitzes and customer‑focused events to strengthen relationships and increase sales penetration.
• Promote Key Account revenue generation (National, Strategic, and assigned accounts) within the district.
• Drive efficient use of Salesforce and other sales tools.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of work experience.
• 7+ years of successful outside sales or sales‑management experience with proven planning, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, analytical, and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and experience with Salesforce.
• Strong leadership, customer service, and business acumen with the ability to work independently and require strong self‑imposed structure.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

• 60% travel expectation.
• This position is deemed safety‑sensitive per United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
