Overview

Position: Maintenance Technician | Overnights Avera on Louise

Location: Avera on Louise Health Campus

Work Shift: Night Shift (United States of America)

Pay Range: $19.25 - $24.00

Benefits at a glance: Weekend on call rotation. Overnight pay a plus. $1000 SOB.

What you will do
  • Performs building inspections, replaces parts, cleans, and oversees heating and plumbing, outdoor grounds & landscaping, and snow & ice removal to insure a safe facility environment.
  • Performs basic carpentry and maintenance for the facility and fixtures including painting and preparation work, remodeling projects, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Performs routine repair and maintenance on machines and equipment (beds, wheelchairs, kitchen equipment, furniture, office equipment, or other related mechanical devices) on a scheduled basis or as requested.
  • Monitors, operates, inspects, repairs, tests, and cleans equipment related to steam or chilled water, air handling systems, sterilizers, etc.
  • Verifies work order assignments and priorities; keeps work areas neat and orderly.
  • Manages preventative maintenance program for facility building, grounds, equipment, and vehicles; creates PM schedule, completes rounds, and maintains logs/records.
  • Responds to facility emergency codes, participates in drills (fire, weather, etc.), assists leadership on safety concerns, and ensures proper PPE use and safety policies.
  • Removes equipment, trash, and hazardous waste according to local, state, federal, and OSHA guidelines; maintains records of waste and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates with contractors and vendors to ensure contracted work is completed thoroughly and timely.
  • May be assigned other tasks within scope such as off-site errands, patient transports, deliveries, minor housekeeping, inventory, and parts ordering.
Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the specified hours and perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds are required. Required

Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience
  • High School or GED Equivalent; three to six months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Driver’s License
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience
  • Boiler Operator
  • Previous experience in a technical specialty such as electrical, plumbing, or mechanical
Minimum Age Requirements

18 years of age
