The hiring range for an HVAC Technician is $29.77/hr to $32.83/hr with full earning potential of $44.13/hr.

How You Will Make an Impact- Perform skilled installation, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems
- Service and maintain boilers, chillers, rooftop units, air handling units, VAV boxes, pneumatic and DDC controls
- Diagnose and repair electrical components related to HVAC systems, including motor controls and switch gear
- Perform basic plumbing tasks related to HVAC (e.g., soldering copper pipe, replacing valves and fittings)
- Read blueprints and technical diagrams; ensure compliance with codes and safety standards
- Collaborate with a skilled team to support building comfort, efficiency, and system reliability

What You Need to Succeed in this RoleHigh school diploma or GED plus four years of work experience in equipment repair, plumbing, HVAC, or electrical. Two years of vocational school may substitute for two years of experience. Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered. Technical training and considerable experience with HVAC equipment. Possession of a valid driver's license and must maintain a safe driving record with Minnehaha County.
Must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment background process. Must be available for rotating on-call shifts and remain accessible, professional, and substance-free during those times. Requires strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; ability to read blueprints; and familiarity with codes and safety regulations. Experience with mapping tools and statistical software is a plus. Must work independently and communicate effectively.
