Job Description

Automatic Building Controls, Inc., the 2020 Siemens Fire Safety Solutions Partner of the Year for the USA, is a leading commercial fire alarm provider located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We specialize in Life Safety Systems such as Fire Alarms, Mass Notification, Emergency Radio Communication Enhancement Systems, and Nurse Call. We also specialize in other low voltage systems such as Clock Systems.

We have an excellent opportunity for a technology-oriented individual with a desire to apply electronic knowledge and skills as an Electronics Technician. No experience is necessary as we provide on-the-job company training, but we are only looking for career-minded individuals! This hourly-paid position is well-suited for a motivated individual that possesses leadership qualities, technical abilities, customer service and communication skills, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities
  • Service, install, inspect, and troubleshoot life safety systems such as fire alarm and other low voltage systems
  • Perform customer training
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Perform work in an efficient, positive and organized manner
  • Maintain accurate, detailed documentation
  • Keep a safe and clean work environment

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate's degree in Electronics or 2+ years electronics/electrical experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivator with little direct supervision required
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to complete tasks
  • Must have valid driver's license and good motor vehicle record
  • Variable overnight travel
  • Experience with fire alarm, nurse call, door access, clocks, or other low voltage systems a plus
