Life Skills Coach/Career Advisor, Community Support Services
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides employment readiness and placement support to clients by assisting with job skills development, employment matching, workplace preparation, and job retention. Monitors employment status, coordinates with employers, and provides transportation and resource support as needed. Maintains accurate documentation and communicates with staff and referral partners to support client employment success and stability.
EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Substance Use/Addiction, Human Resources, or a related field required. An equivalent combination of education and four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered. Must be 21 years or older.
SKILLS:
Fluency in written and spoken English required. Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated proficiency in computer operations and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Current CPR certification preferred; applicants without it must complete training within their 90-day orientation period. Community Health Worker (CHW) certification preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work will involve interaction with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, mental health conditions, crisis situations, or other challenging behaviors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Primarily Monday through Friday during daytime office hours. Some evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required as needed to support operational and program needs.
