To provide life skills education and supervision of participants. Provide clerical support to program staff including completion of documentation for intake, orientation and discharge of participants.
REPORTS TO:
Independent Living Preparation Program Director.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Client Services
A. Provide individual contact with residents to praise, nurture, and discipline as necessary.
B. Facilitate Life Skills Training's in individual and group settings; as needed.
C. Provide effective role modeling for participants to encourage healthy lifestyles.
D. Provide participants with guidance and direction to assist them in achieving their Transition Plan goals.
E. Transport participants as necessary to employment, education, medical and ILS related appointments.
2. Behavior Management
A. Enforce program rules and guidelines consistently.
B. Assign appropriate consequences immediately upon rule infraction
C. Facilitate "House Meetings" as needed.
3. Supported Services
A. Assist in the composition of program letters, forms, reports, and other documents as requested.
B. Organize and maintain accurate client files, ensuring that all files are in order and comply with governing regulations.
C. Provide general clerical services for Independent Living staff (i.e. filing, typing, copying, mailing, etc.)
D. Maintain consistent communication regarding the progress of each participant with other staff.
E. Document all services and activities of each shift worked.
F. Attend program staff meetings and training sessions.
G. Perform other duties as assigned.
4. Facility
A. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the facility.
B. Maintain safe working conditions.
C. Report any maintenance needs to Program Director.
HOURS:
Relief positions available requiring flexible scheduling for coverage during the day, evening, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
EXPERIENCE/
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or related human service field and a minimum of one year related work experience. All candidates must be at least 21 years of age. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage an adolescent population are required. Individual must possess a genuine desire to teach and guide youth and be a positive role model to all residents.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
