Job Overview
The Alaska Court System is hiring a Court Case Manager 2. In this role you will manage cases from opening through closure, ensuring filings, motions, and events are tracked accurately. This position is responsible for distributing documents to parties and agencies, scheduling hearings with judges and attorneys, and maintaining calendars for in-person, telephonic, or video proceedings. It also acts as a key public point of contact, handling filings, payments, document requests, and general questions.
Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency may receive consideration for advance step placement.
- Manage cases from opening through closure, including processing judgments, probation actions, writs, and post‑judgment requests
- Distribute documents to parties and agencies, schedule hearings, and maintain calendars
- Answer phones, provide court forms, perform notary services, and maintain high customer service standards
- Process case filings from multiple sources, manage citation records, and oversee minor offense cases
- Support jury operations such as summoning jurors, tracking attendance, and preparing reports
- Prepare for hearings, manage recording equipment, coordinate participants, and maintain exhibits and records
- Administer oaths, handle courtroom logistics, prepare orders after proceedings, and update case information
- Handle mail, archiving, basic financial duties, and other tasks as directed
- Graduation from high school or completion of a GED certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer
- OR graduation from high school or GED and completion of a two‑year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution
- OR a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college

Full‑time court employees are scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch break.
