A growing Anchorage-based construction company is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator/ Project Manager to lead and deliver complex sitework and utility projects across Alaska.

This company takes pride in a culture built on hard work, loyalty, and excellence
— values that guide both project execution and how the team supports one another. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven, take-charge professional who oversees all phases of construction with an emphasis on quality, safety, and strong relationships with clients and subcontractors alike.

Estimating

The Estimator/Project Manager plays a key role in shaping each project from concept to completion. They prepare and manage solicitation lists, identify and engage key subcontractors and suppliers, and clearly communicate project details and expectations.

From attending pre-bid meetings and site visits to preparing detailed estimates and quantity takeoffs for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracted work, this position requires a sharp eye for accuracy and a deep understanding of construction logistics. The role also involves developing preliminary schedules and construction sequences to determine general conditions and completion timelines, reviewing proposals for completeness, and coordinating with leadership before submission.

On bid day, the Estimator/PM ensures full coverage and timely delivery, then conducts post-bid reviews and explores value engineering opportunities. Once a project is awarded, they help transition it from estimating to management, finalize budgets, and establish production goals to set the field team up for success.

Project Management

The Estimator/PM is responsible for organizing and leading civil, site, and utility projects—primarily in the Anchorage area—from planning through completion. This includes coordinating closely with project executives, field staff, design teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution at every phase. The role oversees procurement, submittals, and material buyouts, managing cost control and timely delivery, while tracking budgets, expenses, and schedule progress with accurate forecasting and reporting.

The Project Manager supervises both self-performed work and subcontracted activities to maintain high standards for quality, schedule, and safety. Daily communication with superintendents, foremen, and coordinators helps keep production goals and upcoming project needs aligned. Strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers are essential, as is ensuring compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements. The position also includes conducting site inspections, incident investigations, and progress meetings;

managing project documentation such as change orders, time sheets, payables, and billings; and proactively identifying potential design or construction conflicts to prevent issues before they arise.

Above all, this leader sets the tone for a culture of quality, accountability, and safety across every project team.
