Prince William Sound College (PWSC) is seeking qualified applicants for adjunct faculty positions in its Career and Technical programs, including Maritime, Construction, and Millwright. PWSC is a higher education institution located in Valdez, Alaska with extension sites in Cordova and Copper Basin.
ResponsibilitiesCareer and Technical adjuncts will develop and deliver instructional materials, including lectures, assignments, and assessments, in accordance with program curriculum and learning objectives. They will provide guidance and support to students, including mentoring, advising, and academic assistance. Adjuncts will collaborate with colleagues and students of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Qualifications- Academic background and teaching experience relevant to subject field
- Past teaching experience preferred
- Industry certification appropriate to the subject field
- Unrestricted Alaska driver’s license with a clean driving record (UA Safe Driving criteria)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student success
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and stakeholders to enhance program quality and relevance
