American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and active AK licensure for an outpatient rehab clinic serving both adult and pediatric populations.
Details- Outpatient rehabilitation clinic setting serving adult and pediatric patients
- Primary focus on general SLP evaluations and treatments impacting functional abilities
- Services may also be provided in inpatient, home health, long-term care, and community settings
- Occasional multi-day travel to remote locations by boat or small plane, potentially in harsh or inclement weather
- Pediatric clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm
- 1.0 FTE position with exact shift details determined based on scheduling needs
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Active and unrestricted Alaska (AK) SLP license — license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed SLP
- Outpatient and pediatric experience required
- Current BLS/BCLS certification
- Flu vaccine required
- Conduct SLP evaluations and assessments across a wide range of ages and diagnoses, including speech, language, swallowing, cognitive, and voice disorders
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized therapy plans of care based on patient response and progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals during rounds and care conferences
- Provide patient and family education including home exercise programs, with sensitivity to cross-cultural considerations
- Participate in community health services, home assessments, and health promotion programs
- Support clinic operations, maintain clinical space, and manage documentation in compliance with hospital and ASHA standards
- May supervise support staff, students, or interns
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Start date will be no sooner than 6 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing
