Respiratory Therapist

Pay Range: $36.46 - $51.29. Provides respiratory therapy modalities per protocol and those ordered by physicians to improve the cardiopulmonary conditions of patients from neonatal to geriatric ages.

• Participates in the assessment, administration, and evaluation of respiratory therapy treatments, pulmonary function testing, performs extubations, airway management and ventilatory life support to critical adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Participates with other health care professionals in obtaining, interpreting and evaluating pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases, airway management and respiratory treatments
• Provides instruction to patients in the use of respiratory therapy equipment, inhalation gases and other therapies related to the treatment of respiratory diseases and/or the promotion of respiratory wellness

• Responsible for the cleaning, care and maintenance of all equipment used in the delivery of respiratory treatments and pulmonary function testing
• Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and successful completion of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Credentialed by the NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist at time of hire.
• Respiratory Therapy license from any state
• High school diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support ACLS & PALS required within 3 months of hire
• Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire and every year

• Two years’ experience as a certified Respiratory Therapist preferred.

• Knowledge of Respiratory care modalities for adults, pediatrics, and neonatal patients

• Skills in Use of mechanical ventilators skillfully and offers alternative solutions
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation Ability to Accurately interpret arterial blood gases
• Use of mechanical ventilators; work alone/unsupervised
• Work under adverse conditions such as communicable infectious diseases

• Travel Required Up to 25% travel expected.
