Service Now Asset Management Developer
Location:
Remote Duration Long Term
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Service Now Asset Management Developer to join our ITSM team and take ownership of implementing and managing IT Asset Management (ITAM) solutions within the Service Now platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing, configuring, and customizing Service Now modules, especially within IT Asset Management, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the organization's asset lifecycle processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain solutions within the Service Now Asset Management module
- Configure and customize Service Now Asset and Configuration Management (CMDB) to support business needs
- Automate asset lifecycle processes (procurement, deployment, maintenance, retirement)
- Integrate Service Now with external tools (e.g., SCCM, JAMF, SNOW, Intune) for discovery and reconciliation
- Implement workflows, scripts, business rules, UI policies, and integrations
- Maintain data integrity across ITAM/CMDB using reconciliation rules, normalization, and compliance checks
- Generate reports and dashboards related to asset utilization, compliance, and lifecycle stages
- Ensure compliance with software licensing and hardware policies
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and IT operations teams to align asset tracking with business needs
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 4+ years of Service Now development experience, with 2+ years in IT Asset Management
- Deep understanding of Service Now ITAM and CMDB data models
- Experience with scripting in Service Now (JavaScript, Glide API)
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles and Asset Lifecycle Management
- Familiarity with Discovery, Service Mapping, and integration with 3rd-party tools
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist – ITAM or equivalent certification
- Experience with SAM Pro (Software Asset Management Professional) module
- Knowledge of HAM (Hardware Asset Management), HAM Pro
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence
- Experience with governance and compliance standards (e.g.
