Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights/Days/Variable Schedule Job Description

The clinical nurse coordinates and performs a variety of nursing care procedures for patients of all ages, necessitating professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments. This role requires the ability to work independently in completing assignments and making clinical decisions during scheduled shifts. The nurse will maintain accountability for all actions taken and will consult with supervisors or managers in challenging situations.

• Promote patient care excellence by implementing safe and efficient nursing practices.
• Anticipate potential problems and adapt priorities based on patient status and emergencies.
• Document nursing procedures and assessments accurately, following departmental policies.
• Educate patients and families on treatments, care plans, and health management.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care activities.
• Participate in patient care conferences and staff meetings.
• Guide and support junior staff members and assist in their orientation.

• Valid, current, full, and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• One year of clinical nursing experience preferred.

This is a 13-week contract position.
