American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Alaska, requiring an active Alaska RN license and a minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
Details- Emergency Department (ED) setting within a hospital environment
- Patients of all ages including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- 13-week contract with night shifts, 3x12-hour schedule
- Floating to other units may be required as needed
- Active, full, and unrestricted Alaska RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS and PALS required upon hire; ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience required
- Prior ED or specialty area experience preferred
- Flu vaccination required
- Proficiency with emergency procedures (e.g., intubation assist, arterial line setup, ABG puncture) preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills required
- Responsible for coordinating and performing nursing care procedures independently, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans
- Accountable for appropriate delegation and supervision of CNAs and Techs during the shift
- May serve as a Contact RN, leading assigned RNs and CNAs during the shift
- Must attend and participate in at least 50% of departmental staff meetings
- ACLS, PALS, TNCC/ATCN, and NRP certifications may be required within the first 6 months depending on specialty
- Assists with orientation of new staff, travelers, and students
- Compliance with facility dress code is required
