The Director of Oncology Services provides strategic and operational leadership for a comprehensive oncology program, coordinating treatment and care planning for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
This dynamic leader will guide a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality cancer care through both inpatient and outpatient settings. The Director will oversee daily operations, quality improvement, fiscal management, and staff development, all while fostering a culture of safety, excellence, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational leadership for oncology and infusion services, ensuring exceptional patient care and outcomes Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with hospital leadership Partner with physicians and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of care Lead and mentor oncology staff through performance evaluations, coaching, and education programs Oversee the Survivorship Program and Vascular Access Team, driving innovation and patient-centered improvements Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and regulatory compliance in alignment with hospital goals
Qualifications
- BSN required; MSN preferred
- 3+ years of recent oncology experience, including clinical leadership in acute or outpatient settings
- Radiation Oncology knowledge preferred
- Active RN license (or ability to obtain); BLS & ACLS required
- Completion of ONS Chemotherapy Administration Course within 12 months of hire
- Demonstrated success in staff development, performance improvement, and interdepartmental collaboration
