SAI - Lunch Host Server (Part-time, Seasonal)
Shee Atika Inc. is seeking a friendly and professional Lunch Host to welcome guests and provide outstanding dining service during lunch experiences at Sheet’ká Salmon Tales. This role combines hospitality, customer service, and cultural engagement to ensure visitors enjoy a memorable meal in a beautiful setting. This position is part-time seasonal and will begin April 1st and continue through mid-October 2026.
Sheet’ká Salmon Tales is a mobile culinary experience celebrating the rich flavors of Alaska’s wild salmon and local ingredients. Our mission is to share the story of Sitka’s heritage and traditional foods through delicious, high-quality meals served with exceptional hospitality.
Responsibilities- Guest Experience
- Greet guests for lunch service with warmth and professionalism.
- Provide menus, explain meal options, and answer questions about local ingredients.
- Food & Beverage Service
- Set up service station for fast, efficient food service.
- Set up Toppings Bar, keep clean and stocked throughout service hours.
- Process payments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas before, during, and after service.
- Customer Service
- Respond to guest needs and resolve minor issues quickly and courteously.
- Assist with special requests and dietary accommodations when possible.
- Team Support
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies, polishing silverware, and general cleaning tasks.
- Assist with food prep and other kitchen duties as needed.
- Share the story behind the menu, highlighting the heritage and traditions of Sitka and the Tlingit people through food and conversation.
- Introduce guests to the cultural significance of salmon and other traditional foods, the rainforest, and Tlingit heritage in a respectful and engaging way.
- Serve as an ambassador for local culture, ensuring every interaction reflects respect and authenticity.
- Candidate must have authorization to work for any US employer without employer sponsorship.
- Candidate must have or be able to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Card (within 14 days of hire).
- Candidate must have knowledge of Sitka's history, culture and local foods (training will be provided).
- Candidate must be able to stand for extended periods, work outdoors and regularly lift up to 25lbs.
- Candidate must have experience with, or willing to learn point-of-sales (POS) systems.
- Candidate must have customer service experience.
