Store Manager - Retail

Our Client
Our client is a well-established retail operation in North Pole, Alaska, known for strong community ties and a commitment to exemplary customer service. They are seeking a hands-on Store Manager who is ready to take full ownership of store operations and lead a large team to success.

What You'll Do
As Store Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of day-to-day store operations for a team of approximately 80 employees. You'll drive sales and profitability, manage inventory ordering and merchandising, and ensure exceptional customer service across all departments. You'll lead recruiting, training, and performance management for your team, oversee scheduling and labor projections, monitor cash handling, and ensure safety, security, and company policy compliance throughout the store.

This is a true ownership role — you'll be expected to walk the floor, set daily priorities, and take full accountability for store conditions and outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 5 years of retail experience preferred (a combination of post-secondary education and related experience may substitute)
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to learn new business software platforms
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, direct, and motivate a large team
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and make sound judgment calls
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and reaching for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a climate-controlled warehouse environment with occasional exposure to extreme cold and confined spaces
