What can you expect?

As a Mechanic Helper, you will work on‑site primarily in Alaska and the Pacific Rim. Your duties will include changing oil and tires, replacing hoses and belts, inspecting brakes, and diagnosing vehicle issues. You will also perform physical labor using hand/power tools, mechanical hoists, surveying instruments, and other equipment.

How will you do it?
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards promptly.
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment, such as oil changes, lubrication, and fueling.
  • Maintain inventory of fluids needed for vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized.
  • Conduct regular inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Store parts and supplies in correct locations for ease of access by team members.
  • Remove tools and equipment when not in use and secure the job site daily.
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site to prevent hazards and reduce exposure to hazardous contaminants.
  • Wear, use, and maintain personal respirator equipment and other PPE on HAZWOPER or other required sites.
  • Report incidents immediately to your supervisor following incident reporting procedures.
  • Travel to remote environmental or construction sites as directed by management.
  • Monitor job sites for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work in constant alertness and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Two years of experience working with vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to obtain a passport for international travel.
  • Ability to pass required security vetting for military installation job sites.
  • Valid state driver’s license and qualification to operate a vehicle under Brice Environmental’s Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass drug, driving, and background screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30‑hour certification (preferred).
  • Asbestos 40‑hour certification (preferred).
  • HAZWOPER certification (preferred).
  • Experience in the environmental or construction industry (preferred).
Working Environment
  • Predominantly field assignments outdoors with potential lodging at remote camps.
  • Outdoor conditions may vary with weather and noise levels.
  • Requires willingness to travel and work long hours to meet rigorous timelines.
