Pipefitter, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Pipefitter is required to have a knowledge of various high‑pressure piping systems and equipment.

• Plans and lays out the needed routing, placement, pitch, incline and elevation of systems and equipment.
• Figures pressures in the systems and sees that the piping, valves, fittings, pumps and equipment are proper for the work.
• Completes installations, modifications, and repairs with little or no check during their progress or upon completion.
• Tests systems and equipment after completing work for proper circulation, flow pressure, and leak‑free joints.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a respirator fitness card, asbestos certifications and backflow certification card. I will obtain and maintain these requirements for the duration of my employment in this position.
