JOB SUMMARY

The Crane Operator reports directly to Mechanical Supervision. The Crane Operator is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating of the daily workload, and carrying out projects as well as the safe operation of our crane and heavy equipment fleet. The Crane Operator position will be required to set up critical crane picks and manage crane support on the North Slope and must be able to operate all equipment on the job site including, but not limited to, crane, front-end loader, skid steer, and tractor-trailer combinations.

The duties of this position will involve maintaining jobsite working conditions, including winter snow removal, material handling, and material organization on the pads. Other duties as assigned as business needs require, including occasional roustabout duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Operate cranes and heavy equipment such as 150-ton crane, 100-ton RT crane, 90-ton RT crane, front-end loader, skid steer, and tractor-trailer.
  • Responsible for the planning, rigging, boom configuration modifications and execution of crane lifts.
  • Must be competent in rigging and signaling.
  • Responsible for load inspections and properly securing equipment weighing up to 125,000 pounds. Must be able to interpret load charts and determine load capacities for different crane configurations.
  • Supplying the facilities, assisting in construction with equipment support.
  • Be able and willing to perform physical labor such as installing cones, traffic control devices, and other work zone setup activities.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain logs, records, and timecards.
  • Be able to monitor equipment operation, perform pre-operation inspections, identify malfunctions, fill out maintenance requests and clean equipment.
  • Needs to be able to inspect, adjust, and perform minor equipment repairs.
  • Help prepare and maintain inventory of supplies, PPE, equipment, and tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • A current DOT Medical Card is required.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • An NCCCO Crane Certification for Large Hydraulics is required.
  • The ability to work 80.5 hours a week on a 4x2 rotation is required.
  • A valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements is required.
  • A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience operating Heavy Equipment and Hydraulic Cranes such as a 150ton Crane, 100ton RT Crane, 90ton RT Crane, Front-end Loader, Skid-Steers, and Tractor-Trailers is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working in a construction or industrial setting, in the Oil and Gas industry, Petrochemical industry, on the North Slope, or in an Arctic environment is preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience operating Front-end Loaders, Motor Graders, Excavators, Snow Blowers, Dozers, Fuel-Trucks, Super-Suckers, and Tractor-Trailers in a construction or industrial setting, in the Oil and Gas industry, Petrochemical industry, on the North Slope, or in an Arctic environment is preferred.
