Role OverviewThe Temporary Port Laborer is responsible for daily drying, sampling and monitoring of the concentrate.
Reporting to the Port Operations Supervisor
2026 Shipping Season;
Rotation Schedule will be 2 weeks on‑site with 2 weeks off‑site
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Dry concentrate using approved equipment and procedures
- Sampling concentrate and document moisture levels throughout the drying process
- Monitor the drying process to ensure materials reach required specifications
- Build, shape, and maintain concentrate piles to operational standards
- Cover concentrate piles with visqueen to ensure proper containment
- Monitor, operate, and maintain heat trailers to support drying operations
- Perform routine adjustments and basic troubleshooting on heat trailers
- Fuel heaters and ensure all equipment remains in safe working condition
- Record drying progress, sampling results, and equipment conditions
- Assist with general labor tasks around the Port as directed
- Follow all safety protocols related to material handling, PPE, and environmental controls
- Communicate equipment issues, safety concerns, or process deviations to supervisors
- Other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating and basic knowledge of equipment a benefit
- A team player and able to communicate well with others
- Highly motivated and have ability to perform tasks with limited direction
- Adhere to high safety standards
- Work day, afternoon, or night shifts as required
- Work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions
- Perform labor intensive work when required; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the trade
- Current driver’s license is preferred
