Electrician

Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.

• Maintain and repair electrical systems as assigned.
• Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment.
• Check and maintain fire alarms in facilities and buildings.
• Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
• Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches and motors.
• Observe safety standards and regulations.
• Attend training to maintain and/or improve certifications and skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Completed related studies program preferred, not required.
• Two years of electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience working in remote arctic environment preferred.

• State of Alaska Electrical Journeyman Certificate of Fitness
• Valid Driver License that meets insurance criteria for driving.
• North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Card – preferred, not required.

• Skills in locating and correcting defects in electrical systems, components and equipment.
• Team player with good customer service, communication skills and very safe work ethics.
• Must be able to read and interpret instructions & manuals.
• Have a commitment to excellence – identify what needs to be done and take action to achieve a standard of excellence beyond job expectations.
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and work assignments, prioritize and manage multiple assignments and tasks.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (oral and written), able to follow instructions and adhere to company policies & procedures.

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift & carry 65 pounds on regular basis, routine walking, standing, bending.
• Must pass a pre-hire drug test, breath alcohol test, occupational fitness test, criminal background check and computer-based testing.
• Ability to adhere to strict policy and procedures per company HSE program and OSHA requirements.

  North Slope; work is conducted in a remote with lack of immediate access to critical medical services and urban community services.
• Rotational schedule of 3x3 and at least 11.5 hour days.
