Job Overview
Carpenter – Anchorage, Alaska – Joint Base Elmendorf‑Richardson. Type:
Non‑Exempt.
Work Schedule:
Full‑Time, Day Shift. Compensation: $46.12 per hour.

- Inspect, perform preventative maintenance, and repair buildings, structures, and associated property.
- Maintain, repair, and alter structures including foundations, walls, doors, windows, roof framing, floors, and related features.
- Maintain cable trolley systems, obstacle course apparatuses, and playground equipment.
- Layout, install, replace, repair, and remove interior and exterior walls, floors, roofs, platform towers, steps, handrails, ceilings, and roofs.
- Maintain interior and exterior finishes, trim, and decor to match or exceed existing appearance.
- Ensure construction is resistant to fungus, mildew, termites, water absorption, and other environmental effects.
- Assemble and secure furniture and fixtures as needed.
- Use mobile maintenance and inspection devices to record all service and repair activities.
- Ensure installations meet environmental protection requirements.
- Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used in duties.
- Conduct mold and asbestos testing and abatement as required.
- Operate various hand and power tools.
- Operate company‑provided vehicles, trailers, and equipment such as lifts, generators, portable heaters, hoists, and pneumatic equipment.
- Maintain professionalism in appearance and demeanor.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Three (3) years of carpentry or construction experience.
- Willingness to work outside normal hours, including back shift and weekends, when unplanned outages occur.
- Ability to work in diverse environments, including inclement weather and high m‑lift positions.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
- Journeyman carpenter license preferred.
- Lift or move up to 70 pounds.
- Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for extended periods.
- Climb in and out of vehicles, and up and down stairs.
- Persevere to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
- Valid state driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera insurance.
- REAL‑ driver’s license or acceptable alternative such as a U.S. passport or military .
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
- Background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
