Mechanic - Automotive - Advanced Journey/Lead

Position is located at MP 135 Denali Highway, Cantwell, AK. The role involves maintaining heavy‑duty and light‑duty equipment and vehicles for secondary roads, rural airports, and other user agency vehicles.

• Professionally maintain heavy‑duty and light‑duty equipment and vehicles associated with construction and maintenance of secondary roads, rural airports and other user agency vehicles.
• Resolve unusual or complex equipment problems through a variety of techniques and methods; perform routine and specialized repair and maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, repair and modify systems including transmissions, drive trains, suspension, engine and emissions, fuel injection, hydraulic systems and brake systems, including air and electrical for light and heavy‑duty equipment.

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Adaptable to change, rapidly adjusts to new information, changing conditions or unexpected obstacles.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle engines, parts and systems, including design, use, repair and maintenance.
• Excellent self‑management: sets realistic goals, demonstrates initiative, effort and commitment; works with minimal supervision.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License required.
