Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Summary
The Instrument Technician reports to the E/I Maintenance Supervisor and will support maintenance activities in various fields on the North Slope. This is a journeyman level position.
Essential Duties- Support North Slope operations by executing instrumentation duties on drill sites and drilling facilities.
- Perform maintenance on industrial instrumentation process control systems, calibration and testing, repairing electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic instruments, valve repair, PLC & DCS and SIS systems, and turbine controls.
- Perform general maintenance functions such as troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance.
- Execute new installation of instrumentation and control systems in hazardous/classified areas.
- Complete functional checkout/commissioning of new equipment and facilities.
- Use proper testing and calibration equipment.
- Utilize safe work practices and actively participate in company safety processes and programs.
- Work in a team environment with a wide range of personnel.
- Take ownership of actions and follow through on commitments by dealing with important problems, holding others accountable, and standing up for what is right.
- Invite dialogue to gain a shared understanding and influence with confidence to drive performance and achieve business results.
- Generate effective solutions based on available information and make timely decisions that are safe and ethical.
- Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
- Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Associate degree/trade certificate or higher in Instrumentation or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in instrumentation in an industrial environment.
- 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- 10+ years of field experience.
- 1+ year of experience with installation, commissioning and maintenance of oil and gas industrial equipment and automation control systems.
- 1+ year of experience in commissioning or maintenance leadership role with track record of achievement, partnership, technical growth, and increasing responsibilities.
- 1+ years of experience with a maintenance management system, specifically SAP.

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, lodging and food will be provided. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi‑Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending on where you are staying;
however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self‑serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on‑site orientation.
