A long-established ready-mix and equipment rental operation is hiring a Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Sitka, AK to maintain and repair a diverse equipment fleet. Duties & Responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a diverse fleet of diesel-powered heavy equipment, rental equipment, small tools, and related fleet assets.
Diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs to keep machines safe, reliable, and ready for customer or operational use.
Support construction and industrial rental equipment service across a broad mix of machines and jobsite equipment.
Transport and deliver heavy machinery throughout Sitka using a low-boy trailer.
Assist customers at the rental counter with equipment rentals, questions, and equipment recommendations.
Work independently, prioritize daily repair needs, and support a small team across maintenance, delivery, and rental operations.
Requirements
Required:
4+ years of relevant experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, or similar repair professional.
Hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel-powered or heavy equipment.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently as a self-starter.
Strong customer service and communication skills for assisting rental customers and recommending equipment.
Ability to support both equipment repair and heavy machinery delivery responsibilities as needed.
Based in Sitka, AK or willing to relocate.
Available for a Monday-Friday schedule averaging approximately 60 hours per week. #SJ1 Compensation:$40.00 – $50.00/hour Company-provided F-550 service truck
