Responsibilities:

• Hands-on configuration and integrations with Guidewire’s including but not limited to Policy Center
• Be involved in designing and building capabilities/services in a continuous delivery model on a Guidewire cloud software as a service platform.
• Partner with leads and architects to help establish a technical vision and deliver innovative capabilities which are consistent, maintainable, and highly scalable for various commerce experiences.
• Work within a microservices architecture, domain-driven design, and RESTful APIs using Java.
• Work in distributed/cloud-based environments.
• Use data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns.
• Define solutions, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Use modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests.
• Practice full Dev Ops to ensure a culture of testing and releasing software on Amazon Web Services continuously using automation and monitoring.
• Experience with data storage designed for security, reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance.
• Deliver software in a Scrum of other agile development processes/methodologies.
• Perform technical code reviews and pair programming.
• Partner with other teams to ensure the service ecosystem is loosely coupled and scalable.
• Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.)
• Lives into cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.)
• Travels as needed for the role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings
• Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc.

Requirements:

• Existing associate or above certifications in Guidewire Insurance Suite products (Policy Center); with aspirations to achieve professional certification
• Policy Center (PC) configuration
• Product model design
• Experience:
  
  5-8 years of overall progressive experience in software engineering

• Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the US
• Guidewire Insurance Suite experience, including Guidewire Development, Guidewire Product Implementations, Guidewire Insurance Suite Products, Guidewire Policy Center, Guidewire Claim Center, Guidewire Billing Center, Guidewire LOB (Umbrella, General Liability), Guidewire Studio, GOSU Scripting
• Must be highly competent in these technology areas:
  Java, Java script, and SQL
• Possess deep knowledge of and experience with Guidewire’s Insurance Suite products
• Java/J2EE, Python or NodeJS
• REST Webservices
• Good verbal and written communication
• Ability to express complex technical concepts in terms less technical people can understand
