Salary Range: $20.50 To $30.80 Hourly
Job OverviewAre you a safety-oriented and skilled professional in freight handling? If so, we would love for you to join our team at Carlile Transportation as a Yard Worker. We are actively seeking an individual dedicated to ensuring the safe loading and off‑loading of trailers, trucks, and vehicles using forklifts. Your primary responsibility will be prioritizing safety in the preparation of freight for over‑the‑road (OTR) and over‑the‑water (OTW) shipment within a fast‑paced and safety‑focused environment.
Responsibilities- Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
- Check all load‑related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
- Move freight and other materials using forklifts and hostlers to position for receiving and loading
- Complete thorough yard cleanup, stacking dunnage in dunnage racks, picking up pallets and
- Sort and inspect freight for damage and inconsistencies prior to loading and unloading, ensuring freight is labeled and counted
- Tie down and secure loads on flatbeds, flat racks and rail cars in accordance with DOT regulations and Carlile policies and procedures for OTW and OTR transport
- Other duties as assigned
- Compensation
- Competitive base hourly range: $20.50 - $30.80 per hour + $2.00 per hour Swing Shift Differential, depending on experience and qualifications
