This means volunteer Loss and Grief
What could be better than helping people get their lives back on track after a while? As a Loss and Grief volunteer, you speak to people who are suffering from the sudden or not so sudden loss of a loved one, an illness or the loss of a job. For whom life stands still and seems hopeless. You listen. You show understanding and make the grief discussable and bearable bit by bit.
Ultimately, the participant can regain some confidence in the future.
This is what you do for it
You are a patient and positive nature and have great empathy. In addition, you follow a versatile practical training within Humanitas, to deal well with the different aid situations, but also to not become too sad yourself. The contacts with fellow volunteers can be useful. You take into account that the guidance, at the participant’s home, can last half a year to a year.
This is what you get!
A very rewarding volunteer position. In which you can make a very important contribution to rediscovering someone’s life energy and rightly receive a lot of appreciation for this. You have a lot of freedom to come to effective agreements with your participant and can count on support from your coordinator Loss and Grief. In addition, you meet nice, motivated fellow volunteers and you have free access to all Humanitas expertise.
Plus a reimbursement of all travel costs and expenses and a volunteer insurance.
