About the Role
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southwark is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join their Early Years team. This role involves working within the Nursery/Reception setting, supporting young children at a crucial stage of their development.
The successful candidate will support children's learning, development, and wellbeing, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will play an important role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing early years environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
Provide 1:1 and small group support, including for children with additional needs
Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and play-based learning activities
Promote positive behaviour and emotional development
Support children's social and communication skills
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider Early Years team
Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (or equivalent)
Experience working within a Nursery or Early Years setting
A strong understanding of the EYFS framework
Experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)
A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
