👷 Project Engineer (National General Contractor)
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Engineer to manage and supervise project-level engineering and administrative functions for a premier national general contractor. This role is crucial for coordinating closely with field operations, project teams, and design professionals to ensure information is accurately communicated, understood, and implemented.
This position is located In-state or at various job sites across the U.S. and requires project-based travel, potentially onsite for the duration of each assignment.
Base pay range$70,000.00/yr - $92,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities- Document & Code Management: Develop a thorough understanding of contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics, and compliance requirements.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication among all project team members, design professionals, consultants, owners, and subcontractors.
- Preconstruction Support: Support Preconstruction, Estimating, and Purchasing teams on budgets and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) development.
- Quality Control: Conduct document reviews for constructability and QA/QC concerns, raising issues to design professionals as needed.
- Prepare materials, methods studies, cost estimates, and trade scope-of-work documents.
- Develop procurement schedules for subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
- Financial Monitoring: Monitor the financial status of the project, including accurate project reporting.
- Meetings & Documentation: Schedule, conduct, and document job meetings, owner-architect meetings, and coordination meetings.
- Change Management: Manage subcontract change orders, including review, negotiation, and approvals.
- Project Close-out: Oversee project close-out, including warranties, guarantees, final payments, and records retention.
- Project Execution & Planning: Assist the Project Manager with overall project planning, scheduling, and coordination.
- Financial Management: Assist with accurate budget management, including buy-out, processing pay applications, and cost reporting.
- Change Management: Lead the change order management process.
- Team Support: Manage and support other Project Engineers who oversee RFIs and submittals.
- Subcontractor Relations: Coordinate and manage critical subcontractors to ensure performance.
- Issue Resolution: Assist in resolving project issues related to labor disputes, material deliveries, and contract administration.
- Field Support: Support safety and quality control management, and manage construction equipment and related logistics.
- Preconstruction Support: Provide direct support to the Preconstruction and Estimating teams, including document review, quantity takeoffs, and bid preparation until official project assignment.
