OverviewThis is a full-time, on-site role for an Ophthalmic Technician located in Skokie, IL. The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for assisting ophthalmologists with patient care by performing preliminary eye function tests, conducting diagnostic tests, scribing patient interactions, and maintaining patient records. Additional responsibilities include operating specialized ophthalmic equipment, such as fundus cameras and OCT, and assisting with minor surgical procedures.
The role requires excellent patient interaction and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist ophthalmologists with patient care by performing preliminary eye function tests and conducting diagnostic tests
- Scribe patient interactions and maintain accurate patient records
- Operate specialized ophthalmic equipment (e.g., fundus cameras, OCT)
- Assist with minor surgical procedures
- Provide excellent patient interaction and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Skills in Optometry and Ophthalmology
- Experience with Fundus Photography and other diagnostic imaging techniques
- Knowledge of medical practices and protocols
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Previous experience in a clinical or medical setting is preferred
