Transporter (3rd shift) - Skokie
Georgia Nut Company
SummaryTransporter (Forklift Operator) reports to Warehouse Supervisor; responsible for operating forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Accountable for safe and efficient operation of various industrial power equipment. Requires loading/unloading, order filling/picking, material handling, production supply and checker duties, and any project work. Maintains facility’s equipment and materials neat. Daily forklift inspection and minor maintenance. Operates all equipment safely, follows prescribed methods.
Cross‑trained for coating/corn syrup receiving and PO receiving (raw material).
- Daily Redzone Food Safety and GMP audits
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report quality variances
- Order picking (transfers): pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring correct quantity and type; perform picking duties efficiently to meet service standards
- Loading/unloading: move product from staging or storage into rail cars or trailers efficiently
- Equipment: load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using forklift, clamp truck or other power equipment; use RF equipment for picking, receiving, put‑away and load functions as required
- Inventory: keep records and reports to ensure accurate bin location and quantity; assist in physical inventories; maintain stock rotation
- Safety, sanitation, security: maintain clean, neat and orderly area; assist in warehouse security; promote safety, comply with OSHA and MSDS standards
- Support production with on‑floor requests (movements of pallets)
- Cycle counts, validate inventory, audit paperwork, AX transactions
- Additional tasks assigned by supervision/lead
- Stand on a concrete floor
- Wear proper PPE: hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes and uniform
- Bend, stoop, twist, turn, stand extended, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs
