Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our team in the Emergency and ICU department at our Skokie, IL location.

Pay Range APCA I/VTIII: $23.20 - $43.70/hour. This pay band is dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Competitive Shift Differentials: Earn more with our shift differentials:

• Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $4.00
• Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $4.00
• Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.50

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital offers an exciting, fast‑paced opportunity that will allow you to utilize the skills you have gained, and expand your expertise while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive, obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique and positioning.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges for patient vital signs: heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert the Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Perform medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Be proficient at phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train colleagues.
• Show patience and empathy while addressing client concerns.
