QA Specialist Level II; 1st shift

Summary The QA Specialist is responsible for monitoring products and employee practices on the manufacturing floor to ensure the safety and quality of products manufactured by Georgia Nut Company.

• Report any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Perform QA in‑process inspections for each department/line once per shift, checking production paperwork, retain sample, code date/lot number/best by date, weight check documentation, metal detection documentation, label, color code, department cleanliness, employee GMP practice, and potential allergen cross‑contamination.
• Perform scale checks once per day.
• Place materials on hold per Hold Policy and send electronic hold reports via SharePoint; transfer PQ product to 100#.
• Release products on hold when approval is received.
• Generate disposal reports for materials on hold.
• Perform metal detector checks as audits during production.
• Perform DVU verifications (2 Log and 5 Log).
• Perform alarm checks for roasters.
• Perform changeover validation on production lines and clean equipment/ATP swabbing after sanitation per policy 6615.
• Perform environmental swabbing per manufacturing policy 6614.
• Perform yearly allergen validation per policy 6605.
• Maintain inventory of QA supplies.
• Make retain samples for production.
• Conduct internal plant audits, glass, and brittle plastic audits.
• Perform magnet pull test annually.
• Perform metal detection test on metal‑detectable ear plugs and band aids twice a year.
• Monitor GMP on the floor and send daily report of issues noted.
• Train new QA Techs and QA Specialists.
• Generate maintenance work requests.
• Shut down lines/departments for serious food safety issues.
• File QA documents.
• Perform any other functions as required by the QA department.
• Check oil FFA and water chlorine.
• Act as backup for QA Specialist (I).

• Minimum high school diploma – college a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of previous QA/QC or operational experience in food manufacturing.
• Basic math, good organization and time‑management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
