Job Description – Mechanic (Collision Repair)

The Mechanic in the collision shop performs any and all general maintenance required to repair the vehicles assigned for repairs, including but not limited to:
- Diagnostic and electrical repairs
- Mounting, balancing, and alignment
- Suspension work (including overhauling suspension if needed)
- Airbag checks and replacement
- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Inspect and identify equipment/vehicles in need of repair.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plan repair work using equipment manuals and follow Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
- Perform general repairs, diagnostic/electrical repairs, mounting, balancing, alignment, suspension, and airbag work.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and buildings as assigned.
- Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
- Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A.S.E. certification and prior training desired; new graduates with some training may be considered.
- Related mechanical experience preferred.
- On-the-job training can be offered for some opportunities.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior workers.
- Knowledge of general vehicle repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Diagnostic and electrical repair knowledge.
- Mounting, balancing, and alignment expertise.
- Suspension work, including overhaul of suspension when needed.
- Airbag checks and repair/replacement.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Pay: $60,000 – $150,000 a year.
