Manager Perioperative Services

Assumes unit responsibility for the practice, quality of care, and service delivered. Provides leadership and support to encourage optimum development and performance of staff members. Manages all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in a cost‑effective manner.

Education:

Associate degree required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Work Experience:

3 years as a registered nurse, including 1 year as a charge nurse, supervisor, or leader.

Certifications:

Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

• Ensures quality of care and patient satisfaction through unit‑specific systems and improvements.
• Ensures operational profitability with preliminary budgets, performance data, system reporting, and inventory management.
• Provides care to patients, effectively using the nursing process.
• Communicates pertinent information to patients, families, and staff.
• Participates in activities for professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
• Manages, develops, retains, and inspires an engaged workforce.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations, and standards.

Maintains and complies with the company’s Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, reporting any unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct.

Medium work:
Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, and may involve pushing or pulling materials or equipment.

Exposure:
Routine contact with blood, body fluid, tissue, and possible communicable diseases or hazardous medications and waste.
