Job Summary
This role acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The nurse effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity; and participates in activities aimed at achieving unit and department strategic goals.
Responsibilities- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and interdisciplinary groups.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources and serves as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
- Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and the nursing profession.
- Adapts interactions to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, explaining services, and communicating in a clear manner.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Required:
Registered nurse diploma. - Preferred:
Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.

Certifications- Required:
Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. - Required:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. - Preferred:
Certification in a clinical specialty area.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good time‑management skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and be self‑directed.
- Good interpersonal, leadership, and delegation skills with sound judgment and supervisory abilities.
- Proficiency in computers, software, and web‑based applications.
Requires occasional and frequent exertion of 25 to 100 pounds to move objects, and activities may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases. The role also poses occupational risk for hazardous medications and waste.
