Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time Temporary Instructor in the department of Languages, Literatures, Cultures & Writing to teach beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of Spanish language and cultures courses during the 26-27 academic year.
Position SummarySlippery Rock University invites applications for a full-time Temporary Instructor in the department of Languages, Literatures, Cultures & Writing to teach beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of Spanish language and cultures courses during the 26-27 academic year.
Minimum Qualifications- PhD, or comparable doctoral degree in Spanish Languages, Literatures and/or Cultures, or closely-related field.
- Native or near-native ability in Spanish and English.
- Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to students, to the education of a diverse population, to the promotion of world cultures & languages, and to service at the department, university and community level.
- Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration are also required.
- PhD or comparable doctoral degree in Spanish Languages and Cultures, supplemented with teaching experience, Spanish speaking life experience and native Spanish fluency.
- Commitment to diversity, extensive knowledge of Hispanic cultures and the Spanish language, proven record of engagement in the profession, evidence of enthusiasm for teaching and institutional service.
- Evidence of effective online teaching and strong interest/record in recruiting new students, plus a record of engaging students beyond the classroom.

Work ScheduleMonday through Friday. Teaching every day face-to-face.
