Position Summary Information
Position Summary
- Coordinate and facilitate the international admissions process, working directly with relevant staff and student applicants to ensure efficient and timely processing of international undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, transfer, and graduate applications.
- Make admissions decisions on international undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, transfer, and ESL applications following review of academic, English language and financial credentials. Interpret and apply appropriate admissions policy, procedure and criteria for admission.
- Evaluate education records for transfer credit.
- Oversee email received by international undergraduate admissions to ensure student questions and inquiries are answered.
- Coordinate campus visits for prospective students and families; this includes representing international admissions at on-campus programming (open houses, admitted student days, etc.)
- Maintain current knowledge of SRU's academic programs, costs, admissions procedures/policies and other relevant information to present to prospective international students.
- Initiate and implement the design and development of international recruitment materials/information.
- Collaborate with staff and administrators to maintain the international admissions website, text and online forms.
- Maintain and update the international CRM admissions platform for user functionality and accuracy.
- Work with the VP for Enrollment Management and other relevant stakeholders in developing a strategic international student recruitment plan including the recruitment of international students currently residing in the U.S on visas.
- Participate in the development of and launching strategic, targeted international recruitment initiatives using current mediums as well as incorporating SRU faculty and other personnel from academic units. Develop presentations and marketing pieces and present to prospective students as part of recruitment activities.
- Cultivate leads within institutional customer relations management (CRM) system with the goal of strategically funneling leads through the admissions process to enrollment.
- Represent SRU and develop relationships with high school counselors, students/families, recruitment agencies, English language schools, Education USA offices, foreign government offices, etc. Serve as a liaison between such institutions and SRU.
- Work collaboratively to provide backup immigration advisement for F-1 student and J-1 exchange visitor programs.
- Other duties as assigned by the VP for Enrollment Management.
This position requires some domestic and international travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of two (2) years’ experience in higher education OR Completion of one (1) year of experience in the area of international student recruitment, admissions processing, and services at the high school or college/university level is required. Computer proficiency is required. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, eligible by law to access the SEVIS database. Successful performance in an on campus interview and ability to pass the required background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with languages other than English is desirable. Experience with the Student Exchange Visitors Information System (SEVIS) is preferred. Master's Degree Preferred
