Pinnacle Group is looking for an experienced Caretaker to ensure our buildings and facilities are well-maintained, secure, fully functional and Health & Safety compliant. You will be joining our Facilities Management team based at Arbour Vale School in Slough. This is a full‑time role with alternating shift patterns between the working hours of 6:30AM – 6PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out day‑to‑day caretaking duties according to the daily schedule, such as attending to any repairs logged on the Help Desk or reported by the Site Manager.
  • Performing daily litter pick of school grounds, changing external bins, sweeping external areas and checking toilets.
  • Executing Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks in accordance with each school’s schedule, e.g., twice‑weekly flushing of outlets, weekly Sprinkler Alarm test, weekly Fire Alarm Test, monthly Fire Door and Fire Extinguisher Checks.
  • Responding to emergency situations such as floods, floor spillages, body fluid clean‑up and arranging temporary or permanent rectification in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales.
  • Carrying out minor repairs and decoration works.
  • Being proactive by noticing any deficiencies in the facilities and either rectifying them within capabilities or bringing the defect to the attention of the Site Manager or Senior Caretaker.

  • Range of general handyperson skills such as general DIY skills, minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ample amiable and approachable personality.
  • Ability to liaise with and assist external service providers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
