Competitive Salary:

Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is a fast-growing part of the RAC, dedicated to delivering planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to our members—right from their driveway to their workplace car park.
Forget emergency callouts and unpredictable shifts! Here, you’ll work through a scheduled list of jobs, equipped with the time, tools, and support you need to deliver quality work. Where You’ll Work You’ll be part of the Slough cluster, covering areas like Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Marlow, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, and Gerrards Cross. Enjoy the freedom of being out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments—no reactive callouts, just organized, pre-booked work where you can focus on doing the job right.
What to Expect Your day begins with a clear digital schedule. Each job is pre-booked, and the member is expecting you. You’ll carry out:
Routine servicing Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards With SMR, you’re not reacting to breakdowns; you’re delivering planned work that you can prepare for. From day one, you’ll have everything you need: a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, and advanced diagnostics.

What You’ll Need To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Either an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points No CV required when you apply! Earnings That Motivate: A competitive base salary of £45,370, with the potential to earn up to £57,000 through bonuses and premium-rate overtime. Enjoy a full-time 40-hour week with Monday–Saturday availability (8 am–8 pm) for flexibility and stability.
