Assistant Controller

Lampe Management Company is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our accounting team in Smithfield, NC
. This role offers hands‑on training and direct collaboration with experienced accounting professionals across key functions, including administration/receivables, accounts payable, and payroll. Following successful training, the Assistant Controller will assume responsibility for higher-level accounting functions within the organization.

• Prepare bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports to property owners.
• Assist with and oversee various accounting functions specific to property management.
• Maintain accurate and confidential financial records.
• Support daily accounting operations and internal reporting requirements.

• Prior accounting experience required (including balance sheet, income statement and general ledger).
• Proficiency in Excel.
• High level of integrity and strict adherence to confidentiality standards.
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a time-sensitive environment.

• Starting salary: $55,000 – $60,000, based on experience and education
• Salary increases to $65,000 – $70,000 after one year of satisfactory performance
• Full benefits package available after 90 days
• 12 paid vacation days annually

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred)
• Minimum age of 21 years old
• Must Own Reliable Transportation
• Valid State Driver’s License
• Background check, Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Physical Required
• This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work

• Full-time position (40 hours/week)
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• On-site role at our corporate office in Smithfield, NC (no remote option)
