Job Goal:
To lead and support continuous improvement in the CTE program by coordinating systems and services that increase students' career readiness, support teachers' ability to deliver effective standards-based instruction, ensure compliance, and close opportunity gaps.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina 830 Curriculum and Instructional Management Coordinator license, including:
    • Current teaching license in any CTE program area or Curriculum Instructional Specialist, or Instructional Technology Specialist, or School Administrator.
    • Minimum of five years of related work experience.
  • Experience building or supporting high-quality CTE programs, including industry-aligned and engaging instruction, work-based learning, and career and technical student organizations.
  • Applies systems logic to interpret complex directives, solve problems, develop structured support systems, and implement standard operating procedures that improve program effectiveness, accountability, compliance, and service delivery.
  • Effectively uses state and local resources, guidance documents, data systems, and professional judgment to find answers, solve problems, support compliance, and improve program operations.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with computer applications, including Google Workspace Suite, Microsoft Excel, Adobe applications, and other digital tools, to manage information; develop resources; organize, validate, analyze, and communicate data; create professional reports and presentations; and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing with staff, community partners, parents, and families, including ability to speak before groups of people with poise, voice control, and confidence.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and organizational skills necessary to perform duties effectively and efficiently with limited supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure program compliance by coordinating the implementation of standard operating procedures for the collection and reporting of CTE data, monitoring completion, and following up with staff as needed.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor CTE support services and systems to ensure effective implementation across schools.
  • Lead school-based staff in CTE data validation, opportunity gap analysis, instructional improvement, and developing strategies to close gaps and improve program outcomes.
  • Coordinate CTE instructional resources and assets, including procurement and management of CTE curriculum, credentials, equipment, and inventory.
  • Facilitate and coordinate high-quality professional development for staff.
  • Communicate policies, procedures, resources, expectations, and program impact clearly and accurately to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Train and support staff in using CTE instructional management systems (e.g., NCCTE Admin, Canvas, NCCTE Course Management System).
  • Assist teachers in accessing financial resources and following fiscal policies and procedures to improve curriculum delivery and program quality.
  • Lead and plan events and initiatives that foster innovative learning opportunities for CTE students, teachers, and community members.
  • Develop, maintain, and leverage partnerships with employers, workforce agencies, vendors, and postsecondary institutions to support students' career, college, and life readiness.
  • Coordinate administration and reporting of student assessments, including credentials and CTE proofs of learning.
  • Coach and support teachers in program evaluation and improvement, leveraging ACTE's High-quality CTE Framework.
  • Coordinate district-level CTE professional learning communities to support educator collaboration, data-driven instruction, and teacher leadership and support.
