Occupational Health & Safety, Operations Manager
- Full Time Business Partner role:
Sydney or Perth based - Drive key safety initiatives to multiple sites
- Part of a multinational manufacturing company
Seeking an experience Safety Business Partner with experience in manufacturing, logistics and building industries to join national team.
The RoleYou will be responsible for building strong relationships across all levels of the business to ensure compliance and promote an environment where every individual is an active participant in health, safety, environment and quality initiatives.
The role will provide expert HSEQ support and drive key initiatives to multiple manufacturing sites across the east coast to continue our proactive safety culture.
Reporting to the Head of HSEQ and part of a small, experienced team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Safety Plan Implementation :
Lead the execution of the 2026 Safety Plan, ensuring safety initiatives are integrated into daily business performance rather than remaining task-based - Lead HSEQ system management :
Develop, review, and promote HSEQ system documentation such as policies, procedures, and manuals. Manage risk programs for all on-site operations. - Operational Risk Management :
Provide specialised HSEQ oversight for manufacture, road transport, and offsite installation projects. Implement. Monitor critical controls for high-risk activities as outlined in the new Safety Plan. - Ensure regulatory compliance :
Make sure the organisation is aware of and complies with all legislation regarding its plant, equipment, and substances. Provide evidence of regulatory compliance in response to customer requests. - Conduct proactive site inspections :
Proactively undertake regular site visits and inspections to identify and address unsafe acts and conditions. Engage with those involved to agree on necessary improvement actions. - Oversee audit processes:
Review and check the current audit process to prepare for planned ISO accreditations. Provide HSEQ auditing services to ensure the organisation meets its ISO requirements. - Drive incident management and investigation:
Monitor incident reports to ensure they are appropriately investigated. Assist the Head of HSEQ and Operations Managers during incident investigations as required - Analyse performance data:
Analyse HSEQ data to monitor accident and incident trends and provide periodic reports. - Promote a culture of collaboration :
Build and maintain a professional and consultative relationship with HSR representatives and HSEQ Committee members to coordinate HSEQ activities and monitor related matters. - Empower managers and supervisors :
Provide guidance and assistance to managers and supervisors so they can effectively fulfill their HSEQ responsibilities. - Develop and deliver training :
Conduct engaging training sessions for management, supervisors, and workers on HSEQ practices and legislation.
- 5 + years of experience in an HSEQ support function role, with a strong background in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, and logistics
- Tertiary qualifications in OHS/HSEQ or related technical discipline
- Experience in integrated Management Systems implementation.
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Be willing to undertake regular travel intrastate and interstate
- Familiarity with information systems and archives e.g. ECO-Online, Share Point
- Background in ISO standards (Quality, Safety and Environment)
- A high level of confidence to communicate with all members of the company
- Proficient in Microsoft suite applications
