- Monitor the quality of employees’ work and provide assistance to ensure product quality and employee safety.
- Assure proper management of all production shifts and employees.
- Coordinate manufacturing needs with other departments and support customer satisfaction.
- Assure proper monitoring and compliance of employees to OPW policies.
- Assure the training needed is provided to employees.
- Provide visual management tools and increase visual management in shop.
- Work to improve inventory management by WIP, completing parts promptly, coordinating with material handlers, checking BOMs, improving complete and backflush locations, and counting parts as needed.
- Support and supply continual improvement procedures to improve efficiency.
- Work to improve 5S in the factory.
- Other activities as needed.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years as a line leader or supervisor in manufacturing and/or quality.
- Working knowledge of ERP and support systems related to accountabilities.
- Experience working with various skill sets in production (assemblers, machinists, maintenance, material handlers, leaders).
- Track record in key functional areas with metrics of on-time production, order completion, machine/equipment maintenance, material flow, supply chain, and production efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or business‑related field; relative experience will be considered.
- Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma training are preferred.
- Must be able to use required PPE.
- Work in weather extremes.
- Stand/walk throughout the shift.
- Wear required PPE.
- Work overtime as needed.
