Protective Services Officer I - Protective Services
Performing patrolling, surveillance, escorting, investigation, and intervention services to protect the safety and security of all patients, visitors, employees, and physicians on hospital premises and police hospital buildings and grounds to reduce the probability of fire, theft, and vandalism.
Responsibilities include patrolling buildings and grounds of the hospital, observing for unsafe or illegal activity, ensuring that only authorized persons are permitted on hospital grounds, providing escort and assistance for visitors, patients, and employees, responding to unusual or emergency situations, investigating incidents of unusual circumstances, writing incident reports, inspecting outgoing parcels, reporting and/or removing safety and fire hazards, transporting cash, checks, other documents, equipment, supplies, and running errands, participating in disaster alerts, assisting with traffic control, and maintaining confidentiality of all matters regarding Johnston Health, its patients, employees, and visitors.
Education Requirements:
None required as long as other position qualifications are met. Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Must attain within 90 days of employment and maintain thereafter an active certification in CPI, North Carolina Private Protective Services Unarmed Security Officer, and training in Hands Only CPR. Professional Experience Requirements:
Prior security or police experience preferred.
