Special Ed Teacher | Smithfield, Rhode

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work with 3rd-5th grade self-contained classrooms within an elementary school setting. This contract position spans the current school year and is based in Smithfield, RI, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys.

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
• Deliver engaging, inclusive instruction that supports the academic and social growth of 3rd-5th grade students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote a positive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student performance and IEP compliance.

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Special Education.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in grades 3 through 5.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, strategies, and best practices.
• Ability to create a supportive and structured classroom environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
